Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to introduce you to the topic of the United States education system and help you understand and discuss ideas presented in a video.

Objectives

• Understand the material discussed in the video
• Learn about problems people experience in school
• Understand how to answer questions in an Canvas quiz

Outcome

After completing this course, students will be able to:

• Become familiar with the United States higher education system, including terminology and institutional norms

Directions

Step 1: Schema Questions 1 & 2

• Answer the Schema questions BEFORE listening to the transcript and reading the text.
• Type your answers in the boxes under the questions.
• Use complete sentences.

Step 2: Notes Questions 3 - 6

• Listen to the transcript by clicking on the white triangle in the picture above.
• You can read the text of the transcript by clicking the link below the picture and then, in the lower left corner, click Read Transcript.
• Answer the Notes questions.

Step 3: Reflection Questions 7 - 10

• Think about the Roger & Lourdes' story.
• Answer the Reflection questions.

Step 4: Submit

• After you have answered all of the questions, click Submit Quiz.
• If you forget to answer a question or want to change an answer, you can take the quiz again.
